This can happen while you are working with a chart, going from the timeline chart to the event entry screen, back and forth as you are making changes to your data. The program will not edit chart colors after you view it, so this may have caused the problem.
Solution 1: Create a New Timeline Chart. Either click the New Timeline Chart the tab or the button on the left.
Each category has a different color because this is a new chart and the events have not been viewed before in this chart.
Solution 2a. Version 3: While viewing the chart, look to the right in the Themes section. Use Apply to Category.
Solution 2b: Version 2: While viewing the chart , look to below it in the Style Selector and use Apply to Category.Go to the Event tab. Find a color you want and right click on it.
Choose Apply to Category and select your preferred category for that color.
Everything in that category will have the new color. You may find that other categories have to be fixed up as well. This will update the Legend as well

Solution 3: Customize an Event color which can then be used for any category.
Select any Event in the chart.
Change its color by choosing Format, Event and find the Fill bucket..
Choose your fill color and click OK.
This color will now be available in the Style Selector

The Legend colors are the colors of the Event categories that are included the chart..
If you do not have a category filled in for any event, it is given the "Unassigned" category.
