Time display is determined by two factors, your computer's Regional setting for timeTable, and Timeline Maker's Options.  This is followed by individual chart and timescale display options. 


The table below will show you what to expect based on various settings.  In Timeline Maker version 3 and above, time is entered immediately after the date, in the same cell. ie In the Start cell, type "15 Oct 2016 08:05 am"

To change your Default options, go to File, Options, Date
Under New Charts, find Display time as: 
  1. Choose  one of three options:
  2.  hours, months, days, seconds
  3. hours, months days, or No Time
  4. Your new charts will show the option selected by default.

Choose from 12 or 24 hour time display.  This will affect new charts.

To change the time display to or from 24 hours: 
  • Timeline Maker version 4 (Pending):  Click your chart, then click Timescale.  Put a checkmark in the Timescale area for "24 hour time".
  • Timeline Maker version 3:  Click your Chart tab, then click Home.  Put a checkmark in the Timescale area for "24 hour time".
  • .Timeline Maker version 2:  Only available if the 24 hour clock is used on the computer's Regional setting for time.

To see Time with your events:
Be in the Chart and select one or more events.  Choose the appropriate show option and select Start and/or End dates. To specify the way time is printed/displayed:
  • Version 4 (Pending): Click on Chart, Date Format and select your option.
  • Version 3:  Choose Date Format and select your option.
  • Version 2:  24 hour clock is  available if the 24 hour clock is used on the computer's Regional setting for time.
