Timeline Maker requires a service to be running any time that Timeline Maker is.  Sometimes it gets turned off during computer maintenance.

Solution: The program installs a service under Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.    If you cannot go here, check with your computer's administrator.  (Windows 10 users will find this option a different way.  See** below.)

Check to see if Protexis Licensing is installed in the list of services.*

Right click on it and choose Properties.

Check if it is set to Started and Automatic.

If it is not, be sure these are turned on and click Apply.

Restart Timeline Maker.

* If Protexis Licensing is missing from this list, please launch this direct install: Browse to the installed program folder, ie C:\Program Files\TLM Professional\Protexis

and try to launch the licence install file (EXE) file located within it.

Restart Timeline Maker.

**Windows 10 users:    Here is how to get to the Service you are looking for:

  1.  Go to All Apps.
  2. Scroll to W and find Windows Aministrative Tools and
  3. Click on Services
  4. Find Protexis Licensing in the list and open that.
    • The Startup Type should be Automatic.
    • The Service Status should be Running.
    • OK this.

Start Timeline Maker.

If Timeline Maker does not run correctly, contact Timeline Maker Support and report the exact text of any error messages.
